摘要: The five skeletons found buried in the church of Militello di Catania, Sicily, were tentatively identified by morphological analysis and historical reports as remains Prince Branciforte Barresi, two his children, brother another juvenile member family (sixteenth seventeenth centuries). In order to attempt clarify degree relationships skeletons, sex testing mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequence hypervariable segments I II (HV1 HV2) control region performed. Moreover, 9 bp-deletion marker V (COII/tRNA lys) was examined. Molecular genetic analyses consistent with expectations, although they did not directly demonstrate that these are fact relatives, due impossibility obtaining from living maternal relatives Prince.
