[Neuropathic pain among hospital in-patients. Analysis of Austrian hospital discharge data].

摘要: BACKGROUND Neuropathic pain is a common symptom of many diseases among in-patients in hospitals and neuropathic itself often requires hospitalisation. It was the aim this study to examine epidemiological key data related hospital in-patients. METHODS The source used ICD-10 coded main diagnoses with complete set discharges obtained for every Austrian year 2002. RESULTS A total 49,412 cases (614/100,000 inhabitants) always associated were recorded, representing 2.0% all from hospitals. Furthermore, there as 353,893 which are possibly pain, like cancer, diabetes mellitus stroke, 14.3% discharged Applying proportion those suffering patients these three known literature would result 5.8% pain. CONCLUSION These represent first step assessment epidemiology show high extent in-patient setting.
