摘要: Patients undergoing open-heart surgery are exposed to gaseous microemboli (GME) from several sources, including bubble oxygenators, which used in a majority of cases for cardiopulmonary bypass. If present large quantities, GME can reduce blood flow and delivery oxygen tissues may be responsible, part, some the complications that commonly follow Gaseous defined, causes this phenomenon examined. The literature last 30 years on topic is also reviewed, measures reducing during bypass recommended. Current considerations users systems discussed, five unanswered questions raised conclusion.
