摘要: Abstract In this study, we synthesized a zwitterionic DTNB derivative, 5-(2-aminoethyl)-dithio-2-nitrobenzoate (ADNB), and characterized its reactions with several cationic, anionic, neutral thiols. Reactions ADNB, unlike those DTNB, are relatively insensitive to electrostatic environments ionic strengths. At low strength, rate ratios, k ADNB / , varied from 0.22 for low-molecular-weight cationic thiols 3.0 anionic A ratio of ∼200 Cys-34 BSA appears reflect very environment. ratios ∼6 ∼1, respectively, canine equine serum albumins, which have Glu-82 → Asp Ala substitutions suggest is the most important residues affecting reactivity in BSA. appear be useful characterizing thiol groups proteins.
