摘要: Pancreas plays an important role in maintaining the glucose homeostasis. The deterioration of β-cells pancreas is a crucial factor progression diabetes mellitus; therefore, restoration β-cell mass and its function vital importance for effective therapeutic strategies. precise mechanism increase functional still unknown. This review focuses on certain genes which are involved rejuvenation pancreas. These divided according to their functions into three categories: participate either proliferation (mitotic division differentiated β-cells), neogenesis/transdifferentiation (development from precursor cells) or inhibition apoptosis (programmed cell death). rate balance among rates proliferation, neogenesis apoptosis. Understanding these pathways may lead discovery new drugs, target based gene delivery development safer antidiabetic drugs.
