摘要: We examined the cellular and subcellular localization of agmatine in hippocampal CA1 region by immunocytochemistry. By light microscopy, agmatine-like immunoreactivity (agmatine-LI) was found primarily perikarya dendritic profiles pyramidal cells punctate processes preponderantly stratum radiatum. Electron microscopy revealed that agmatine-LI cytoplasmic concentrated 'clusters' associated with mitochondria tubular vesicles. In radiatum, axons axon terminals small, synaptic The almost exclusively formed asymmetric synapses on spines dendrites, many which originated from cells. Some also present shafts cell dendrites astrocytic processes. results demonstrate hippocampus is forming excitatory (asymmetric) cells, some contain agmatine-LI. These findings further implicate as an endogenous neurotransmitter may be co-stored L-glutamate act part rat a blocker N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor nitric oxide synthase.
