摘要: Agmatine was isolated from bovine brain in 1994. It exhibits various functions, as a consequence of which it meets the criteria for an endogenous neurotransmitter. However, its physiological action on cardiovascular system remains unclear. This study designed to clarify effects when administered into rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) anesthetized and paralyzed rats. Unilateral injection clonidine (5 nmol) RVLM significantly decreased mean arterial pressure (MAP) heart rate (HR). agmatine produced similar clonidine. The amplitude decrease HR same with clonidine, but MAP less pronounced. inhibition induced by abolished idazoxan nmol). Similar inhibited pressor effect l-glutamate (2 injected RVLM. duration this (about 6 min) shorter than that observed 12 min). Bilateral depressor response baroreflex activation (electrical stimulation aortic nerve), to, pronounced than, Idazoxan antagonized within is concluded exerts potency might be partial agonist imidazoline I1 receptors.
