The relationship between performance appraisal satisfaction and employee outcomes: a study conducted in peninsular Malaysia

摘要: Purpose - It is often suggested that in order for performance appraisal to positively influence employee behaviour, employees must experience positive reactions. The purpose of the present study examine relationship between satisfaction and outcomes, form work performance, affective organizational commitment turnover intention. Furthermore, intrinsic motivation as a mediating variable was also explored. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from 303 many organizations pertaining several different industries, throughout peninsular Malaysia. Findings Results survey showed outcomes intention mediated by employees’ motivation. Research limitations three most important limitations, which are discussed more detail chapter one, sample used, mainly Klang valley, measurement used reliance on self-reported questionnaire data. Consequently, experimental studies needed causality issues. Practical implications These results have managerial implications: obtain organization should provide platform where report with appraisal. managers create an environment within enhance thus their commitment.
