摘要: A quasi-steady-state model was developed to predict the effectiveness of a water mist system for extinguishing fuel spray and pool fires. The obstructed fires where extinguishment primarily occurs as result reduction in oxygen concentration due consumption by fire dilution with vapor. Interactions between flame are neglected resulting limiting case predictions. is based on conservation energy requires following input parameters: size, compartment geometry, vent area, flow rate. steady-state temperatures concentrations predicted can be used determine smallest that extinguished. predictions made compared favorably results three full-scale test series conducted US Coast Guard.
