摘要: The study reported in this paper assesses the fit of a 21-item instrument measuring values second round European Social Survey (ESS) to theory 10 basic on which it was based (Schwartz 1992). In particular, measurement invariance for studying value priorities across nations and over time investigated. first part study, using multi-group confirmatory factor analysis (MGCFA) data from ESS round, configural, metric, scalar are assessed 25 countries. Metric is necessary condition insure equivalence meaning factors precondition comparing values’ correlates. Scalar means. MGCFA did not support configural metric After reducing number countries 14, supported model with seven distinct values, same identified round. These measurements may now be used by researchers relationships among attitudes, behavior, sociodemographic characteristics 14 nations. Comparing national means possible only smaller set where holds. were established between rounds each 19 separately. Value compared (2002-2003 2004-2005, respectively).
