Positron annihilation and vacancy formation in Al

摘要: High-precision measurements of the temperature dependence positron annihilation in Al, over range 290-930K, have been made via Doppler-broadening technique and using an internal 68Ge source. The results are considered mainly terms two lineshape parameters. These denoted L W describe, respectively, intensities well defined central wing portions a normalised photopeak area. Both exhibit characteristic, overall S-shaped temperature-dependence profile associated with change from free to vacancy-trapped modes. In detail, however, dependences quite distinct.
