摘要: The left atrium is considered a biomarker for adverse cardiovascular outcomes, particularly in patients with ventricular diastolic dysfunction and atrial fibrillation whom (LA) enlargement of prognostic importance. LA consequent decrease function represents maladaptive structural functional "remodeling" that turn promotes electrical remodeling milieu conducive incident fibrillation. Medical nonmedical interventions may arrest this pathophysiologic process to the extent that subsequent reverse results reduction size improvement function. This review examines cellular basic mechanisms involved remodeling, evaluates noninvasive techniques can assess these changes, potential initiate remodeling.
