Glass formation in the Sb2O3–CdCl2–SrCl2 ternary system

摘要: Abstract Vitreous systems based on antimony oxide Sb 2 O 3 have been investigated. The limits for glass formation are reported in the –CdCl –SrCl ternary system, and –(0.5CdCl  + 0.5ZnCl ) pseudo system. Amorphous state is confirmed by XRD patterns. Thermal measurements implemented differential scanning calorimetry show that Tg above 300 °C. As a general trend, increases with chloride content. These glasses an extended transmission mid-infrared spectrum refractive index larger than 2. influence of CdCl /Sb substitution physical properties has studied (90 − x)Sb –xCdCl –10SrCl system: thermal expansion, Vickers microhardness, Young bulk modulus decrease as cadmium concentration increases. An inverse dependence observed shear modulus. This behaviour discussed relation to structural hypothesis.
