摘要: Kerosene and LPG are widely used in households India for lighting cooking. These fuels have historically been subsidized. As part of the restructuring energy sector, government is committed to limiting these subsidies. This paper examines impact reducing subsidies on welfare poor. The uses data from nationally representative surveys over 100,000 households. concludes that case strong. Although kerosene subsidy an inefficient means subsidizing fuel use by poor, reduction it will need be supported other policies would limit adverse impacts.
