摘要: The microbiological and chemical quality of tank-stored rainwater is impacted directly by roof catchment subsequent run-off contamination, via direct depositions birds small mammals, decay accumulated organic debris, atmospheric deposition airborne micro-organisms pollutants. Previous literature reports on water have given little consideration to the relative significance micro-organisms. This study involved analyses at an urban housing development in Newcastle, east coast Australia. A total 77 samples were collected during 11 separate rainfall events, microbial counts mean concentrations several ionic contaminants matched climatic data corresponding each monitored events. Conditions both antecedent to, those prevailing event, examined investigate influence certain meteorological parameters bacterial composition indirectly assess contribution load. Results indicated that represented a significant load this site, overall contaminant was influenced wind velocities, while profile (composition) varied with direction. implications these findings issues tank health risk analysis, appropriate usage system design are discussed.
