Fermi surface signatures in the compton profile of Be

摘要: We report high-resolution Compton profiles of two single crystals Be with surface normals oriented along the [0001] and [1120] directions. The results are compared contrasted corresponding, highly accurate all-electron computations based on band theory framework within local-density approximation (LDA). A reasonable overall level agreement is seen between experiment respect to shapes profiles, as well Fermi-surface-induced finer structure in first second spectral derivatives. However, measured lower than at low momenta, clearly displaying broadened Fermi features theoretical predictions, point importance electron correlation effects beyond LDA for a proper description momentum density. aforementioned similarities differences rather like situation that has been observed recent studies other materials.
