Luteal blood flow and progesterone secretion in pseudopregnant rabbits

摘要: Ovarian and luteal blood flow rates were measured, by means of radioactive microspheres, in anaesthetized rabbits on Day 8 pseudopregnancy before after lowering the ovarian perfusion pressure with a sling placed around aorta. When was lowered 42% decreased 9-fold whilst to remaining part ovary remained unchanged, indicating presence an autoregulatory mechanism interstitial gland. progesterone secretion, assessed from concentrations venous blood, positively correlated per unit weight tissue. These data indicate that high rate may be necessary for optimal steroid production corpus luteum.
