KL-6 mucin expression in carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater: Association with cancer progression

摘要: AIM: To assess histochemical expression of KL-6 and its clinicopathological significance in carcinoma the ampulla Vater. METHODS: Ampullary tissues were collected from 38 patients who underwent pancreatoduodenectomy or local resection. Tissues subjected to immunohi-stochemical analysis using antibody. RESULTS: Positive staining ampullary cells was observed 26 (68.4%) cases. Staining not found surrounding non-cancer regions tissues. Remarkable invasive pancreatic duodenal metastatic lymph nodes. related node metastasis (P = 0.020), invasion 0.016), 0.034), advanced stage TNM clinical classification 0.010). Survival showed that positive a poorer prognosis 0.029). CONCLUSION: The aberrant mucin is significantly unfavorable behaviors Vater.
