摘要: Summary Background Previous studies have been interpreted as suggesting an increase in risk of cancer among users calcium-channel blockers compared with β-blockers. To explore this issue further, we studied a large group hypertensive patients to investigate the relation and cancer. Methods In cohorts blockers, angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, β-blockers, identified all cases diagnosed 1995. We used nested case-control analysis estimate ACE β-blockers reference group. The study was based on information taken from General Practice Research Database, population restricted at least 4 years medical history recorded computer. Findings 446 1750 controls. relative estimates for cancers combined were 1·27 (95% CI 0·98–1·63) 0·79 (0·58–1·06) respectively, There little difference duration use less than 1·0 year (relative 1·46), 1·0–3·9 (1·26), 4·0 or more (1·23). Interpretation small positive association between is unlikely be causal since there no increasing blocker use.
