Effect of perezone on arrhythmias and markers of cell injury during reperfusion in the anesthetized rat

摘要: In the in vivo rat heart model with transient (5 min) regional ischemia, as induced by left coronary artery ligation, we have demonstrated that perezone reduces dramatically incidence of reperfusion-induced-arrhythmias. Administered 5 minutes before occlusion, at a dose 3.1 mg/kg, this drug effectively protects against high arrhythmias and fall blood pressure. addition, it inhibits release lactic dehydrogenase creatine-kinase enzymes to plasma. We propose protective effect might be related its well documented action promoting intramitochondrial Ca2+, thus, maintaining ATP production during reperfusion.
