Method and apparatus for maintaining servo stability during actuator saturation

摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for positioning a head (110) over disc (106) in drive (100) while maintaining servo loop stability. The includes an actuator-head assembly (310) having large scale actuator (308) micro-actuator (314) that both able to move the disc. An anti-windup compensation component (312, 322, 320) detects when controller (304) is producing control value will saturate (314). Using value, generates saturation tracking error signal δyawk. summing (318) then combines position based on its with form masks of micro-actuator.
