摘要: The existing spectroscopic data on the iodine molecule have been reanalyzed, some new assignments proposed, and a potential energy diagram computed for ten electronic states up to 55 000 cm−1. In particular, following made upper levels of certain absorption bands—(1) repulsive 3Σu+(0u−) weak at λ2700 in vapor, (2) an ionic 3Σu−(0u+) PRKM Skorko band systems, (3) state arising from mixing homopolar 3Π0+u(0u+) 1Σu+(0u+) Cordes bands. addition, λ3416 λ4300 ``continua'' each interpreted satisfactorily as region unresolved, overlapping bands with lower limiting frequency. Other lying 40 000–55 cm−1 established.New methods used deduce segments curves.
