摘要: The radiative lifetime of the fluorescence molecular iodine vapor, B 3II0+u(v′=26)→X 1Σ0+g, has been determined to be (7.2±1.0)×10—7 sec by using a phase fluorometer. Measurements on equilibrium vapor have carried out over pressure range 10—4 5 mm Hg. Results at lowest pressures are considerably shorter than true due mixing scattered, incident light with fluorescence. This effect corrected for analytically. At higher measured is shortened self‐quenching. A Stern—Volmer plot data yields self‐quenching collision diameter I2 11.3 A. also beam vapor.
