摘要: Several previous studies indicated that for optimal uptake by the brain, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) should be present as phospholipid in plasma. However most of dietary DHA is absorbed triacylglycerol (TAG) because it released free fatty during digestion either TAG-DHA (fish oil) or sn-2-DHA (krill oil), and subsequently incorporated into TAG chylomicrons. We tested hypothesis absorption can increased if sn-1 position lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC), would escape hydrolysis pancreatic phospholipase A2. infused micelle containing LPC acid, duodenum lymph cannulated rats, analyzed chylomicrons HDL DHA-containing lipids. The results show while total amount was comparable from two types micelle, percentage recovered phospholipids 5 times greater with LPC-DHA, compared to DHA. Furthermore, 2-fold when LPC-DHA infused. These could potentially lead a novel strategy increase brain levels through diet.
