摘要: This article examines the definitions and implementations of concept ‘social tourism’ that are in use Europe today. Examples show has been implemented many different ways to suit national contexts justifications goals social tourism can differ greatly. The question arises how one define boundaries this versatile complex concept. proposes a model clarify interrelationships between interpretations: it highlights where common ground exists, but also contradictions apparent. consists four main categories: participation model, inclusion adaptation stimulation model. draws on historical development ethical foundations for provision, is supported by range examples European practice. Through sub-categorisation concept, argued ‘scientification’ take place, so term does not lose its academic political value. concludes proposing definition effectively set apart from other forms with attached benefits.
