摘要: Abstract In this paper, the first successful growth of CuFeO 2 single crystals by applying traveling solvent floating-zone technique is reported. Typical 5–8 mm in diameter and 10–30 length have been obtained from starting materials Cu O Fe 3 with molar ratio 1:1. The as-grown crystal homogeneous trigonal system cell parameters a h = 3.04A c 17.17A hexagonal description. Mossbauer effect (ME) measurements, isomer shift for 57 at room temperature 0.40 mm/s respect to metallic iron, which offers experimental confirmation that iron present trivalent state. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate has two successive magnetic transition temperatures T N 13.5 K 9.5 K, respectively. Thermal analysis reveals partially decomposes into about 1180°C.
