Intrathecal synthesis of specific antibodies in neuroborreliosis. Comparison of different ELISA techniques and calculation methods.

摘要: Abstract The sensitivity of six different ELISA techniques and calculation methods for the determination intrathecal synthesis IgG antibodies specific to Borrelia burgdorferi was investigated in paired CSF serum specimens from 33 patients with neuroborreliosis. diagnostic value Antibody Index (AI) compared meaningfulness B. (Bb), established by immunofluorescence assay (IFA). AI, as a standard antibody determined ratios (QBb) CSF/serum ratio (QIgG) or albumin (QAlb). Using Western blotting identical concentrations all displayed at least two proteins. procedures were almost equivalent demonstrating (32 ). Calculation AI IFA titers somewhat less sensitive ( 30 In 5 IgG- IgM-antibodies within normal range borderline, while elevated AIBb values indicated an autochthonous immune response CSF. uncertain cases neuroborreliosis will be useful clarifying diagnosis.
