Roles and responsibilities of nurse preceptors: Perception of preceptors and preceptees

摘要: In this study setting, preceptors, who were clinical teaching assistants and hospital employed nurses assist through an interactive process preceptees, nursing students, in developing skills integration into the culture of area. Therefore, roles responsibilities preceptors should be clear meet expectations preceptees. This aimed at comparing similarities differences perception to responsibilities as held by nurse their preceptees relation how important such are, frequently attend role. A self-administered questionnaire using Boyer's (2008) was completed a convenience sample 87 preceptee 62 amounting 66.9% 77.5% response rate respectively. The included 43 items two 4-points Likert-type scales: "Importance of", "frequency attendance roles". Two versions developed: one for other reliability (Alpha values) .944 importance .973 frequency scales. Mean scores indicated agreement among groups of, but disagreement certain responsibilities. Both perceived as varied with significant difference rating preceptors' educators facilitators.
