摘要: Inflammation and microvascular dysfunction have been implicated in a variety of pathologic conditions affecting the brain. Features inflammatory response that are common to many these pathological manifested neurovasculature include oxidative stress, diminished endothelial barrier function (increased vascular permeability), increased expression cell adhesion molecules, recruitment rolling adherent leukocytes platelets. The evidence implicating leukocyte–endothelial cerebral microvessels as rate-determining component pathophysiology associated with such ischemia-reperfusion, sickle disease, γ -irradiation is summarized. Mechanisms proposed explain platelets diseased/injured microvasculature also addressed, paradigm for blood induced by seemingly unrelated conditi...
