摘要: This clinical report describes the successful implant-supported prosthetic rehabilitation of a patient who underwent subtotal bilateral maxillectomy for an oral squamous cell carcinoma with consequent wide defect interesting whole hard palate and most soft palate, causing large opening that directly connects cavity to nasal fossa bilaterally. The innovative aspect this case is represented by realization obturator prosthesis supported just 3 zygoma implants.The maxillary bone had been largely excised radical surgery. Despite resection complete oncological success was free disease after 24 months' follow-up, experienced severe speech deglutition deficit due iatrogenic oro-antral communication. Three implants have positioned, 2 through right and, owing lack bone, 1 on left side. No mucogingival surgery necessary around implants. stabilized patient's function as well quality life widely improved.The results show could represent viable surgical option obtain satisfactory even in extensive defect.
