摘要: The mitochondrion has long been known both as a chemical powerplant and cellular compartment housing various biosynthetic pathways. However, studies on the function of mitochondria in apoptotic cell death have revealed versatility complexity these organelles previously unsuspected. mechanisms proposed for mitochondrial involvement are diverse highly controversial. In one model, seen passive containers that can be made to leak out cytotoxic proteins. other scenarios, however, certain more or less familiar aspects physiology, such oxidative phosphorylation, generation oxygen radicals, dynamic morphological rearrangements, calcium overload, permeability transition, play crucial roles. this review, we examine few promising gaining attention recently.
