摘要: Maintenance of mitochondrial membrane integrity is essential for function and neuronal viability. Apoptotic stimulus or calcium overload leads to permeability transition pore (mPTP ) opening induces swelling, a common feature permeabilization. The first phenomenon can be evaluated in cells loaded with the dye calcein -AM quenched by cobalt, swelling detected electron microscopy through analysis integrity. Here, we describe live cell imaging assay detect development detailed morphological ultrastructural changes that mitochondria undergo during this process.
