摘要: Sustainable societal and economic development relies on novel nanotechnologies that offer maximum efficiency at minimal environmental cost. Yet, it is very challenging to apply green chemistry approaches across the entire life cycle of nanotech products, from design nanomaterial synthesis utilization disposal. Recently, novel, efficient methods based nonequilibrium reactive plasma chemistries minimize process steps dramatically reduce use expensive hazardous reagents have been applied low-cost natural waste sources produce value-added nanomaterials with a wide range applications. This review discusses distinctive effects how these can aid advance integration sustainable into each stage product life. Examples enabling plasma-based technologies in production degradation products are discussed-from selection precursors derived resources their conversion functional building units, for useful naturally degradable carbon-based nanomaterials, device operation eventual disintegration yet potentially reusable byproducts.
