摘要: Background: Identifying context-specific correlates of home- and neighbourhood-based physical activity in preschool-aged children may help improve intervention program development for these settings. Methods: A total 153 3–4-year-old were recruited through preschool settings Cambridgeshire (January–July 2013). Children wore Actiheart accelerometers ≤7 days to assess their sedentary time (ST), light-(LPA) moderate- vigorous-intensity (MVPA). parent-completed questionnaire assessed across the ecological model child’s attendance during measurement week. Only accelerometer data times when at home used. Multilevel models (Level 1: days; Level 2: child) examined associations between maternal-reported exposure variables each outcome (children’s ST, LPA MVPA) (main analysis). Further analyses included subsample with complete paternal (father Results: In main analyses, older siblings engaged less ST. whose mothers reported being ‘moderately inactive’ or ‘active’ (vs. inactive) LPA, while worked >35 h week−1 MVPA. More equipment was associated lower but greater father analysis, father’s television viewing before 6 pm ST MVPA children; negative association mother’s children’s retained. Conclusion: Family demographics parental behaviours appear have strongest This study further highlights importance examining both maternal behaviours.
