Significance of microsatellite instability in different types of early-stage nonfamilial colorectal carcinomas

摘要: PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to investigate the genetic alterations early-stage nonfamilial colorectal carcinomas regarding microsatellite instability, with special reference shape tumors and site lesions. METHODS: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded specimens 44 were examined for instability use polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS: consisted 16 flat 28 polypoid carcinomas. Nineteen located in proximal colon (9 type 10 type), whereas 25 distal rectum (7 18 type). Ten (22.7 percent) had at least one positive locus, five (11.4 them two or more loci. In percentage locus significantly greater than that (4/9 (44 percent)vs. 0/10;P=0.04). Six patients synchronous metachronous both. They harbored frequently single carcinomas, differences statistically significant (P<0.02). CONCLUSIONS: These data suggest colon, pathway may be different from
