Slow light miniature devices with ultra-flattened dispersion in silicon-on-insulator photonic crystal

摘要: We propose a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) photonic crystal waveguide within hexagonal lattice of elliptical air holes for slow light propagation with group velocity in the range 0.0028c to 0.044c and ultra-flattened dispersion (GVD). The proposed structure is also investigated its application as an optical buffer large value normalized delay bandwidth product (DBP), equal 0.778. Furthermore it shown that can be used time or wavelength-division demultiplexing separate two telecom wavelengths, 1.31µm 1.55µm, on useful time-scale minimal distortion.
