摘要: In this paper, we review analytical and computational models of bone fracture strength. Bone is a complex phenomenon due to the composite, inhomogeneous hierarchical structure bone. First, briefly summarize bone, spanning from nanoscale, sub-microscale, microscale, mesoscale macroscale, discuss experimental observations on failure mechanisms in at these scales. Then, highlight representative strength different length scales main findings context experiments. We conclude by summarizing challenges modelling list open topics for scientific exploration. Modelling accounting scales, provides new needed insights into which, turn, can lead improved diagnostic tools treatments diseases such as osteoporosis.
