Using a set of 126 areal units (Standard Metropolitan Labour Areas) intended to represent markets, this paper describes analyses 1970–71 migration flows. It begins with description the most important flows areas, both absolute relative terms. The effects size are removed by transaction flow analysis, distance evaluated gravity model. largest residuals from model then identified discussed terms economic other explanatory factors.
