摘要: UNLABELLED Cholera outbreaks annually occur in many parts of Iran. The aim this study was to investigate the biotype and genotype diversity V. cholerae isolates from recent outbreak (2012) Iran characterize ctxB allelic sequence isolates. all analyzed compared with reference sequences for El Tor classical biotypes GenBank database. PFGE specification determined genetic relatedness among also those previously reported assessed. Ten out eleven were identified as one single isolate belonged biotype. All except three possessed tcpA, ctxA, wbeT genes. ctxB(+) (classical biotypes) allele providing evidences variants. Eight 11 (73%) showed identical pulsotypes (P1). Each remaining distinct (P2-P4) more than band differences. Pulsotype P2 corresponded an (9%) result demonstrated virulence gene content strains patterns provided import a strain our country no has been (1998-2011) SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY Emergence Classical after at least decade is alarming due fear expansion high potential signifies need monitor analyze new cases countries cholera or even sporadic could conceivably affect neighbouring may expose world seventh pandemic strains.
