摘要: Ibuprofen is associated with initiation or exacerbation of ulcerative colitis. As ibuprofen selectively inhibited fatty acid oxidation in the liver caused mitochondrial damage intestinal cells, its effect on substrate by isolated colonocytes man and rat was examined. dose dependently (2.0-7.5 mmol/l) 14CO2 production from labelled n-butyrate proximal distal human colon (n = 12, p < 0.001). Glucose either unaltered increased. Because short chain main source acetyl-CoA for long synthesis, inhibition prostaglandin synthesis colonic mucosa could also occur at this level. concentrations that can be attained are not known, conclusions drawn current dosages tentative. The may biochemically implicated colitis, manifestation which would depend reached colon.
