摘要: It has been proposed that fructose may cause or aggravate symptoms in patients with functional gastrointestinal disorders. Fructose is commonly used to sweeten processed foods, and the prevalence of incomplete absorption (25 g, 10%) healthy subjects as high 50%. The only controlled study performed did not demonstrate a higher fructose-induced amount concentration evaluate by breath testing varied among studies. Moreover, dietary sources usually contain glucose, which increases subjects. Thus, alone reflect ingestion under normal circumstances. Given these limitations, we suggest practical, empirical approach suspected restrict ingestion. Additional studies are needed clarify relation between symptoms, assess effects coingestion other sugars on absorption, eliminating from diet symptoms. (Am J Gastroenterol 2004;99:2046‐2050)
