摘要: OBJECTIVE: To test the effect of concomitant ingestion glucose or lipids on sorbitol absorption in human small intestine using hydrogen breath test. METHOD: After an overnight fast, four occasions separated by at least 1 week 14 healthy volunteers randomly ingested 20 g alone, and glucose, 9 lipids, 10 lactulose. Hydrogen concentration was measured end-expiratory samples every min for 3 h, then 30 5 h. Sorbitol malabsorption calculated from ratio areas under curve. RESULTS: The estimated rate 98 +/- 14% (mean SEM) when significantly lower with (68 70 7%, respectively; P < 0.05). Orocaecal transit times did not differ between different time periods. CONCLUSION: is increased lipids.
