Effect of peripheral lipopolysaccharide injection on dopamine content in murine anterior olfactory nucleus.

摘要: Norepinephrine turnover rate in the murine locus coeruleus (LC) is known to be enhanced by intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Approximately 40% LC neurons are also project olfactory bulb (OB) and anterior nucleus (AON). Therefore, we investigated whether an i.p. 500 μg LPS could modulate catecholamine biosynthesis these sites 8-week-old C3H/HeN male mice. Unexpectedly, content norepinephrine was not elevated both during 6-h-observation after injection. The contents dopamine its metabolites AON were highly increased at 4 h injection, whereas those OB 6-h-observation. Although has been considered belong dopaminergic neuron system, our report first show under a stressful condition such as endotoxemia.
