摘要: Most retroperitoneal smooth muscle tumors are believed to be malignant, and leiomyomas considered very rare. This study was undertaken determine the clinicopathologic features long-term follow-up of 56 diagnosed as (LM) or with an uncertain malignant potential (SMTUMP) in effort correlate their behavior features. These were compared a series 11 cases leiomyosarcomas (excluding gastrointestinal stromal tumors). Histologic slides immunohistochemistry for SMA, desmin, S-100 protein, HMB45, CD34, C-KIT, estrogen (ER) progesterone (PR) receptor proteins, MIB-1 analyzed. All LM all but one SMTUMP well-differentiated that lacked atypia coagulative necrosis. There 3 mitoses/50 HPF. had striking resemblance uterine common hyaline change trabecular patterns. 51 females 5 males ranging age from 25 79 years (mean 45 years, median 43 years). typically large, mean size 16.2 cm weight 1600 g. Immunohistochemically, 35 studied positive alpha-SMA, 30 negative CD117, S100 HMB45 CD34. Steroid receptors commonly present: ER 20 29 PR 26 31 female patients. score 10% nuclei positive. Four patients died disease, four alive recurrence, three no evidence disease. A group benign can identified among tumors. these resemble by histology hormone receptors, they seem have good prognosis small local recurrence.
