摘要: Schizophrenia is a devastating disorder. Despite the advance in research techniques last couple of decades, pathogenesis disorder still remains poorly understood. Given lack pathognomonic feature disease and difficulty to analyze molecular pathways patients, animal models have been instrumental advancing our understanding disease. Recent progress genetics has identified candidate susceptibility genes for schizophrenia, generation new genetic begun provide valuable insights into development. However, complex neurodevelopmental heterogeneous nature schizophrenia poses tremendous challenges creating credible mouse models. In this review, we will discuss how current systems temporal conditional regulation gene expression shed lights on functions schizophrenia. We also consider strength weaknesses each model. argue that further development more sophisticated crucial clarifying unknowns
