Enhanced photovoltaic performance of dye-sensitized solar cells based on NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+-incorporated nanocrystalline TiO2 electrodes

摘要: Near infrared to visible up-conversion of light by rare earth ion-doped phosphors (NaYF 4 :Yb 3+ , Er ) that convert multiple photons lower energy higher offer new possibilities for improved performance photovoltaic devices. Here, phosphor NaYF doped nanocrystalline TiO 2 films are designed and used as a electrode dye-sensitized solar cells, the DSSCs based on composite electrodes investigated. The results show cell with achieves power conversion efficiency 7.65% under one sun illumination (AM 1.5G, 100 mW cm −2 ), which is an increase 14% compared without (6.71%). improvement attributed dual effects enhanced harvesting from extended absorption range increased scattering, electron transfer resistance.
