摘要: Abstract SiC–B 4 C–Al cermets containing 5, 10 and 20 wt.% of Al were fabricated by high-energy planetary milling followed conventional sintering spark plasma (SPS) techniques separately. The average particle size reduced to ~ 3 μm from an initial 45 μm after 10 h milling. as-milled powders conventionally sintered at 1950 °C for 30 min under argon atmosphere SPS was carried out 1300 °C 5 min 50 MPa applied pressure. formation 8 B C 7 AlB 12 phases during confirmed X-ray diffraction (XRD) scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses. 700 °C 1000 °C well supported XRD differential calorimetry (DSC). maximum relative density, microhardness indentation fracture resistance C–10Al consolidated are 97%, 23.80 GPa 3.28 MPa·m 1/2 , respectively.
