摘要: Abstract There is recent evidence that the amine storing cells of mammalian adrenal medulla also contain bioactive peptides. In present study we examined human glands with immunoperoxidase-bridge method using specific antisera raised against [Met 5 ]- and [Leu ]-enkephalin, vasoactive intestinal polypeptide hormone (VIP), substance P. Approximately one-third in demonstrated enkephalin-like immunoreactivity. The intensity immunostain varied among individual but did not appear to correlate content, as determined by formaldehyde-induced fluorescence catecholamines. An abundant network varicose fibre-like structures dots, representing preterminal terminal nerves, polypeptide-like immunoreactivity were found close proximity medullary gland cells. Substance P-like was observed a few fibres cortex. However, could detect containing polypeptide- or glands. p ]The findings suggest both ]-enkephalin are richly innervated peptidergic nerves polypeptide. These peptides may modulate release effects catecholamines medulla. represent separate neuronal system.
