摘要: Spinal lipomas (congenital lipomyelomeningoceles) can cause significant aesthetic deformity of the lower spine in addition to recognised neurological problems. Surgical management consists untethering cord symptomatic cases, and debulking lipomatous component improve spinal contour. However, remains controversial. Between May 1998 November 2002, 23 cases lumbosacral lipoma were operated on by neurosurgeons at our hospital. Of these, eight (34%) patients subsequently referred plastic surgery for revision, which was performed a combined team surgeons neurosurgeons. In addition, three new had their primary as planned procedure same team. The purpose this paper is present method results neurosurgery technique these 11 lipoma. Follow up ranged between 12 months 4 years (mean 20 months). One patient wound break down developed seroma. Two cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage required re-exploration prolonged hospitalisation. very satisfactory 10 out patients. frequency secondary referral together with incidence CSF leak, underlines importance managing multidisciplinary involving surgeons. This series demonstrates that are encouraging but decreasing rate challenge. Further follow will determine role early
