Production of depressive behaviors in young monkeys

摘要: Socially unsophisticated rhesus monkeys ranging in age from 6 to 13 months were individually confined vertical chambers for a total of 30 days. Upon emergence the they exhibited significant increases self-clasping and huddling behaviors decreases locomotive exploratory activity. These behavioral changes similar direction those resulting separation attachment objects, which have been described as depressive.
