Production of depressive behaviors in young monkeys

摘要: Socially unsophisticated rhesus monkeys ranging in age from 6 to 13 months were individually confined vertical chambers for a total of 30 days. Upon emergence the they exhibited significant increases self-clasping and huddling behaviors decreases locomotive exploratory activity. These behavioral changes similar direction those resulting separation attachment objects, which have been described as depressive. The utility chamber apparatus device production study depression is discussed, implications child psychoses noted.
